After successfully launching Clipchamp for work, and after further innovation in Clipchamp for personal users, we’re excited to announce the launch of Clipchamp for education. In today’s digital landscape, effective communication is paramount. Clipchamp for education equips educators and students with the ability to convey ideas visually, developing essential skills for success that range from the classroom into future careers. Whether it’s creating educational videos, presentations, or multimedia projects, Clipchamp provides a canvas for imagination to flourish. As the official Windows video editor, Clipchamp can be used on Windows 11 devices through the desktop app by searching “Clipchamp” in the taskbar or Start menu. For Windows 10 users, the app can be installed from the Microsoft Store. Additionally, you can access Clipchamp via the web on any desktop or laptop computer with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge installed. Clipchamp’s user-friendly interface makes video editing accessible to learners of all levels and is embedded in Microsoft 365 for education A3 and A5 licenses, seamlessly integrating with tools like OneDrive, Microsoft Stream, and Office apps.
“Our mission has always been to empower anyone to tell stories worth sharing, making it accessible and easy for everyone. With Clipchamp for education, we are taking a significant step towards empowering educators and students with the tools they need to thrive in a digital world,” said Alex Dreiling, General Manager of Clipchamp.
One of the keys to ensuring educational success is the encouragement to develop future-ready skills, and Clipchamp is a ready-made answer to those looking to align their teaching and learning with a fast-paced, online world.
We’re rolling-out Clipchamp across EDU tenants through July and August. So that educators and students with A3 and A5 accounts can conveniently access Clipchamp within Microsoft 365.
Accessing Clipchamp for education
Clipchamp is being progressively rolled out to all users with Microsoft 365 A3 and A5 licenses. Clipchamp can be accessed via microsoft365.com, directly at microsoft365.com/launch/clipchamp or via the Clipchamp for Windows application. Licensed users will also see the “Edit in Clipchamp” option when right-clicking video files in OneDrive or SharePoint. Users waiting for roll out can expedite by visiting the Stream homepage at microsoft365.com/launch/stream and watching any video. You don’t need to watch the entire video; just wait for the page to load to complete then try logging into Clipchamp again after 1-4 hours.
Once in Clipchamp, thanks to the ‘no experience necessary’ interface, you can take advantage of an easy to use, drag-and-drop mechanism that allows students and educators to immediately create engaging video presentations by combining videos, images, webcam footage, voiceovers, and animations. Clipchamp shakes up the traditional static slide presentations, by enabling users to explore storytelling and dynamic content delivery. With a deep focus on rich and relevant content, educators and students can take any video and dial up its personality using stickers and graphics. Users can access over one million stock video, audio and music assets from the Clipchamp library to suit every creative content need.
Clipchamp offers a suite of educational tools that aim to develop communication skills to help prepare for success from classroom to career. The webcam and screen recorder can take instructive content to a new level, making lesson plans and explainers not only quick and easy to assemble, but also incorporating creativity through adding virtual backgrounds.
The teleprompter is a great tool to assist with drafting and reading scripts. Gaining confidence in public speaking – particularly for students – can boost their future interviews and collaborative work.
Of course, we want to ensure that educators and students alike have access to cutting-edge technologies, which is why intelligent features have been prioritized to help streamline your creative process with AI technology.
Now, students and educators can use Clipchamp to easily use AI to create automatic captions for videos, as a focus on accessibility ensures everyone can enjoy and understand the content.
Text to speech is another great opportunity for users to become more familiar with using intelligent tools in their creative process. For those who prefer a more professional voiceover that also saves time, simply type what you wish to convey, and it will be brought to life using one of Clipchamp’s voices. Users can also make edits to their transcript, improving the flow or even shaving time off their creations.
Clipchamp arrives integrated with the tools educators and students use every day, as an integral part of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This means that the software is already trusted by many of those in educational settings, thanks to centralized IT controls, single sign-on, and robust security features within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
